Speech Pathology

Speech pathology involves the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders across the lifespan.

Communication therapy aims to increase the individual’s participation in the activities of daily living while swallowing therapy sims to increase the client’s safety and comfort during eating and drinking.

• Language development (understanding and using words)
• Pragmatic communication (social skills and social communication)
• Stuttering
• Voice
• Literacy
• Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC – nonverbal methods of communication such as sign and speech generating technologies)
• Communications therapies for children with special needs (e.g. ASD, hearing impairment, Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy, cleft palate).
